What am I supposed to look for in *fresh* flowers

Posted by chefwong (My Page) on

I've starting a new thing in the *office* have fresh cut flowers daily.

Went down to the flower market on 28th street today.
Maybe it's just me but alot of their stuff while not as bloomed as some of the flowers at the local corner stores.... was very dry and tinged (slight browning) on the petals.

Any of you gurus want to offer me some advice on what to look for in fresh cut flowers

Well, definitely not dryness or a brown tinge anywhere! Strong green stems, fresh petals, no discolouration, drooping, or torn petals. All of these make for good flowers. Also, try to buy them not too open; they will last longer that way.
