I've never grown Origanum 'Amethyst Falls' and was wondering if the blooms would work as cut flowers?

Can't help you there, but that sure is one cool looking plant.
So is this one - Origanum libanoticum - Cascading Ornamental Oregano

Just this morning as I was browsing through my copy of Garden Gate magazine I came across a blurb on this plant. What a pretty plant!

However, no mention was made of using it as a cut flower. I did a quick google search and didn't see anything either - which doesn't necessarily mean it can't be used, of course.

I'm not familiar with this family of plants, so I can't be of any help, unfortunately. I hope you find an answer. You could always grow a bit and try it for yourself.

Good luck,
Dee

My mother in law has this growing in her garden and it is a lovely plant but the stems with the flowers on do not get any longer than about 10 to 12 inches. I use regular oregano in my bouguets so I would think that it would hold up. Try some, at least you would have a beautiful plant addition to your garden. Kat

Does anyone know if this can be used as the spice or is it purely ornamental?

I'm not familiar with this variety, but grew Kent Beauty last year. I never did use them as cut flowers -- I was selling them as potted plants. They wouldn't stand up very well, but I think they would look good cascading over the side. I found this website that will give you more information. Here is a little more information on them.
