Transportation & Storage of Cut Flowers for Market

Hello from another newbie in your midst. A friend and I are going to try our hand at selling locally grown flowers at farmers market this summer. We will be buying from several different growers in the area and transporting the flowers back to home base for assembly into bouquets. What I'm wondering is, what is the best method for transporting and storing the flowers overnight before market? We planned to transport in 5 gallon buckets with preservative/water inside plastic crates (to prevent tipping) and to store them in a cool basement. Is refrigeration required? Would a portable cooler help or not so much since tall flowers would need to be transported dry? How have you prevented sloshing on the trip? Your thoughts are all appreciated!
