Anyone grow flower kale?

| I would like to try growing flower kale for cuts in the fall. I want to start from seed and just would like any information on when I should start the seeds, and how long I might expect for them to reach maturity to cut. Any advice would be appreciated. [I searched this forum and growing from seed, but couldn't find any information.] |

| A few years ago I grew the Crane series and started seeds in early June and transplanted them. Here, they were ready in late Sept/early Oct. - since, I haven't had time to get them started! So, may try to do them again. I think there are special treatment processes though, because they smell, I think it was treating in bleach!
But, I don't remember.
