 o
new growth on cut flowers?

About a month ago I was given a couple of cut roses. I put them in the same vase and put in the little food packet. One of them started dropping petals more or less immediately. The other one didn't start dropping them until this week. When I looked at it today, I noticed that a new branch has sprouted. It looks like a couple of the other lopped-off branches are greening up, too.
What are the chances of this thing surviving, in any capacity? What should I do with it? It gets only artificial light, I haven't even changed the water in weeks.
TIA...
