| I was just given a pot of orange Gerbera daisies for a going away gift. Of course, they would only be annuals in my zone, but if I kept them inside over the winter in their existing pot, would they return next year? Any special care? Or should I just put them in the ground and enjoy them as an annual? Thanks. Phyl |

| Life ain't always beautiful. Sometimes it's just plain hard. And, sometimes we make it harder fretting over simple things. Those Gerbera daisies were forced in a "hot house" environment. Put them on a table in your house; and, every time you walk by, think of the people who gave you this beautiful gift. Because life ain't always beautiful; however, it surely is a beautiful ride............. Trish |

| I don't know. Last year for mothers day, hubbie and I were in the grocery store and he piped up with a loud 'hey honey, you want one of these for Mothers Day". He was holding a hydrangia. I planted it outside. Thought it had died and gone, but darned if that little sucker isn't putting out new growth. SAme thing happened to one we gave my mother in law years and years ago. She draged it around in a pot, planted it in her yard, and the darn thing is HUGE now. Of course, an hydrangia ain't no gerbera daisy.... |

Hi, a lurker here. I'm was lurking around here today because the THS forums where I post have been down most of this week. I have had a Gerbera Daisie that I keep in a pot for four years now. It doesn't look so good in the Winter when it is in the house, but it perks up and will bloom when it can go out in the Summer. Although it didn't do too much blooming last summer. I think I will re-pot it this summer and see how it does. |
