Suggestions for dealing with the thorns on Bells of Ireland

Posted by kitkat_oregon 7 S. OR (My Page) on

I grew Bells of Ireland last year with great success except for the thorns. I found that using it in arrangements was hindered by these piercers. Does anyone have any suggestions because I have about a 1000 seedlings coming up in the garden and I love the plant. Thanks in advance.

With a cotton-gloved hand, just reach up close to the flower bells and slide your hand downward, The thorns fold out of the way and strip right off in one pass.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a try.
