Gerbers - field grown?

Hi there...do any of you grow gerbers in the field? I'm curious...a few years ago I tried two plants in my house gardens and they were in the wrong spot I suspect.

But, the colors are so great! I know post harvest handling is tricky because of their week necks, but, are they worth trying?
