Kat, did you discover what caused the problem?

Curious - are you going to sell these as potted plants? I bought these one year when I first started gardening, unaware that they are not hardy in my zone. And I bought them (and planted them) in the fall, so I never even got a bloom out of them. Too bad, as they are so lovely. Live and learn, I guess - learn not to trust the nursery and to do your own research, lol!

Hi Dee, I didnt discover the problem. It might have been that the bulbs were old, as I said, I got a REALLY good deal on them. But in light of the fact that I got maybe 4 out of 30, not such a good deal after all, and I had to throw away the potting mix as well. Boy did those things stink!!! In answer to your question, I was growing these for cuts, I had the idea that I would put them in pots until the fall and transplant them then. They are hardy here, my mother in law has a lovely patch of them that come back each year. Oh well, there are other things.
I suppose my research says dont buy old bulbs no matter how good a deal. :) Kat
