Does anyone use iron weed as a cut flower?
If so is there another name for it?

Yes, I use it. It's a wonderful cut flower for huge, impressive bouquets! I don't know its botanical name. (I'm talking of the wild kind----there may be a domesticated version.) It lasts long in the vase. I love it with goldenrod and wild blue aster.

vernonian noveboracensis I believe is one of the common names of Ironweed in our area....there are probably other subspecies as well.....and yes, I ADORE using it in my cut flower arrangements!!!
