Weigela for filler?

| I'm sorry if this has been asked before, as I can't imagine it hasn't, but I can't find it. Does anyone use Weigela in bouquets? I was looking at the blooming bush over at my step-daughter's yard and thinking how pretty it would be in a Memorial Day bouquet, or any other. Can't recall that I've used it before.

| Yes, I have used it. I find it less then satisfactory but it does work. TReat like any other shrub in hot water and break of split the ends. Make sure to pre=treat over night before using. I find that except for huge bouquets the shape of the branches is awkward to work with. PErhaps just using the ends of the branches as a short filler would work OK too. WHen I Use longer ones the ends turn down and hide a lot of the flowers. ALso, it is not very sturdy in the sun. WHite turns brown quickly. I think the variegated leafed pink one might be the best for cutting. I used WHite, An early red, and French Lace (Green and gold varigated leaf with red flowers) |

| Does anyone else use Weigela foliage? I was wondering about some of the variegated varieties. |
