cosmos leaf tips turning brown

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me why my Cosmos leaf tips are turning brown and dying.
It is in a container with a soiless mix. it looks healthy except for this which seems to be spreading.
I did find a few aphids, do you think this is their work, or something else?

| I dont know if this helps but my cosmos seedlings all had crispy leaf tips and as soon as I took them out of the seedling medium and put them in good old garden soil they recovered immediately. I dont think cosmos enjoy the container life style. Just my opinion. |
