| Until today I felt like all I was doing was tilling, planting, weeding and such everyday. It felt like the same day repeated over and over for the last month. Finally, I took some flowers to three of my florists today. I took Golden Alexanders(looks like a yellow Queen Annes lace) and Large Flowered Beardtounge(Penstemon Grandifloris)and some Hesperis that I cut at an abandoned farm(I like the free flowers)as well as some wheat for filler.
All of the florists said "We were wondering when you were gonna show up." They all loved the product and wanted to know what was coming next. As usual, I didn't bring enough and had to ration it at each shop so eveybody would get some.
It sure feels nice to see the end result!!
I hope all of you have great growing weather and plentiful sales.

| Excellent, Steve! And it does indeed sound like they were happy to see you--nice to have a friendly relationship with your florist consumers. Good luck with your spooky weather... Valerie |

Way to go Steve. Isn't it nice when all that hard work pays off. I could use a few of those florists around here! Cheryl |

It finally starts to pay off - isn't it great? Having to ration your supply at each shop is the kind of difficulty you want! Congrats! Jeanne |

| Jeanne, Ya know, I did that last year too. I don't know why, but I'm always afraid to come home with extras. I did it again on Friday. I went to one little shop in the town closest to us that I sold to last year. I brought her 100 stems and she took them all, she would have taken 200 if I would have brought them. I brought her blue Baptisia's and White's and she went crazy over them, I got .80 a stem without a blink. The sales part I'm good at, it's the pricing and volume I''m still learning. Take care of those knees, Steve |

| Rainy days, good for thinking. Steve, can you share how you present your flowers to the florists--in bunches in buckets, or flat for some, etc? Do you usually name the price, or ask what the florist wants to pay? If you name the price, are florists natural bargainers, who expect to "horsetrade" a bit? I know everyone's experience is different, and I don't expect yours to be mine, but all info is most helpful! Cheers, Valerie |
