Incredible demand for UK-grown cut flowers

Hi everybody,
Just a quick and happy post to tell you about how lucky I feel - I started this 1 acre cutflower garden without actually doing any market research. When the first peonies started to get close to harvesting time, I made a tour around the local florists and lo and behold: they all were interested! And surprisingly, the one in my own village who had just opened was most interested of all and even invited me to come with her to the special English Cutflower event in New Covent Garden in London. There everybody I spoke to treated me like something very special: an English cutflower grower (and I'm actually Dutch originally...). Bottom line: the local flower shop buys everything I am growing at the moment and the regional wholesaler keeps ringing me to ask for flowers - and then there is an internet florist who would like my flowers too! I need a lot larger area to grow for all these outlets... So if you in the UK and not sure: just jump and try - the market is there waiting!
