Bread Seed Poppies for Arrangement.....

What is the trick to cutting these poppies and keeping them from drooping?? I read somewhere that you need to singe or dip the ends in boiling water to seal the milky residue. That is supposed to keep the stem from getting plugged and allowing the water uptake. Is this correct?? Please share your technique for putting these poppies in a vase without the 'droop'. Thanks in Advance!:-)

Yep. That is it, either singe the end, or dip it in boiling water for a few seconds.
