pinching zinnias

I have gotten conflicting advice on pinching zinnias. I am growing Benary's Giants from seed and would like to have them mostly for cutting. Should I pinch them or not? The stems don't have to be super long -- maybe a foot long or so.

Mostly I am looking for an abundance of flowers more than stem length.

This is my first year to grow Benary's Giants. Last year we grew seed from Parks. We easily got 18" stems and the more we cut, the more they grew.

I'm in the same quandary about Dahlias - disbud or don't?

Just pinch the first flower bud when it starts to develop and it'll be branching left, right and center. Remember when you cut to leave at least two leaf joints below the cut so it'll branch again.
