Queen Anne's Lace

Bone-headedness pays off.
Queen Ann's has always been one of my favorite flowers, wild or domestic. Whenever I see it by the wayside's I always stop to cut bunches.
But I've had problems trying to get it to grow in my garden. Saving the seeds from roadside cuttings never germinated. The plants always seem to grow on the busiest highways, not convenient for stopping to dig up roots. For years the seeds I found available from some suppliers were some wimpy variety, more like Baby's Breath. But last year I finally got some of the real stuff to sprout and grow. And this year the blooms are beautiful. It's also reseeding itself nicely and it's welcome to spread wherever it pleases.

RE: Queen Anne's Lace

Good for you! I also love QAL, and I've been trying to germinate some for a few years also. I think this year I finally got it to work. I only hope I don't regret it, lol - keeping those horror stories in the back of my mind. I hope that because I will be cutting most of it, it won't reseed too wildly.

Of course, I'm jumping way ahead of myself, lol - I'm not even sure if I will get it to grow this year, so I don't know why I'm worried about it taking over my yard!

:)
