keeping cut lilacs fresh

Hi everyone. I am wondering if it would be possible to keep cut lilacs fresh for 2 weeks? I have read that I should cut them with a sharp knife, immerse immediately in 100 degree F water, cut them again under water, and place them in water with a cut flower preservative. Will they still be looking nice in 2 weeks? What if I put them in a fridge, without any ethylene producing fruit... would that keep them fresh for 2 weeks? The internment of my grandmother's ashes is on June 29 and lilacs were her favourite flower, but they are blooming now, and I am not sure they will still be blooming in two weeks. I would really like to figure out how to have some looking fresh in celebration of her life. Any advice?
