Question re rudbekia variety

Posted by kitkat_oregon 7 (My Page) on

Hi all, while I was driving to market today, I saw a garden with a large rudbekia plant in it, the flowers were large, probably 5 or 6 inches across, yellow with a lovely dark orange/red splotch at the base of the petals. What variety is this? My Indian Summer have been my saviour this season as my sunflowers have failed miserably, and I would like to add this other variety of rudbekia to my garden. Any input appreciated as always. Thanks, Kat

RE: Question re rudbekia variety

Sounds like it could be one of the "Autumn Colours or Cherokee Sunset series". It's a mix of all different colours, browns, yellows, oranges, two tones, Some of the flowers are singles like Prairie Sun, etc and some are doubles
