My first bloom is getting ready to open. I can't wait to see the flower. The bud looks small but maybe next year they will be bigger. I only have one that has a bud so far.

| OMG That's so exciting. I can practically smell it. They can be picky, but it sounds like you right, there will probably be more blooms once it's better established. |

I was thinking of growing tuber rose next year since I now have a greenhouse. Where did you get your bulbs? Kathy |

| Mine are blooming right now. Mine are not in the ground but in several pots in the sun. I planted them in pots thinking they would be easier to enjoy on our shaded porch just by moving the pot in the evening. I have not decided if I should just move them into the garage, pot and all this Winter, or if they need to be removed from the dirt to dry out first. More research required on over wintering them. I hope you enjoy yours. I placed one in a bouquet for my aunt and everyone at the dinner table loved it and spoke how no one grows tuberoses any more. Teresa |

Kathy, I bought my tuber Rose from Royal Dutch. I think it was a bulb lady special. All four bulbs came up- only one bloomed so far. the stem was about four feet tall and the flower was sparse. I think it will do better after it is established. owl |

| A few things I know about tuberoses. Your one bulb will soon be a clump of bulbs. Do not try to separate them until the bulbs start to fall apart on their own. I dig them in the fall and store in my basement. Before planting in the spring, I soak the clumps in warm water for 30 minutes. Do not completely cover the clumps of bulbs. Tops should be about even with the ground. They like good fertile soil and will multiply fairly rapidly. |

I am in zone 7 and was going to cover them with hay for the winter. Has anyone grown them in my zone and not dug them up? I sure am happy to hear they multiply rapidly. owl |
