GL..I've wintersown 'Alaska,' 'Crazy Daisy,' Silver Princess' and 'Snow Lady,' and they all came true from seed. 'Silver Princess' and 'Snow Lady' bloomed the first year. When they self-sow, the seeds get sown about now, and germinate next spring, so your project sounds like it should work.

It's interesting that you already have collected seeds. My nursery plants all have a few weeks to go before the seeds are ready.

From your answer it sounds like shastas need to have cold to germinate. I had thought they may grow into little seedlings now and overwinter and regrow in the spring. Thanks for the info.

I've only collected two seed heads. All the rest are still greenish. I've got some 'Becky' and some unknowns.
