Frost protection for dahlias

As cooler weather approaches, so does FROST! I'm wondering what fellow dahlia growers use to protect against the early frost. In zone 5B we can get our first frost as early as September 15 but can be as late as October 20. I would hate to lose 35 days of great cutting if we got an early frost. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

RE: Frost protection for dahlias

Henry,

Fellow dahlia growers in this region have benefited from the use of overhead irrigation during a frost or freeze in September, and gone on to harvest beautiful dahlia blooms well into October.

Be Well,
Trish
