Anyone growing these orientals?

Trying to decide on orientals from BD Lilies....looking especially for outfacing or upfacing ones with long pedicels. I emailed the woman there and she did recommend Sumatra, Pink Virtuoso and Salmon Jewels. Does anyone here grow them or Harbor Star, Lavender Mist or Miss Katie?
Thanks! Phyl

Are you sure you want upfacing with long pedicels? The peds aren't strong enough to hold a flower upright if they're too long. That having said -- how hot are your summers? Harbor Star fades in 90 degree heat. Lavender Mist is gorgeous, but mine was not as colorful as the photo on their website (Indiana colors are NEVER as bright as the west coast!) Sumatra is wonderful, too. Never have grown or even seen the others.

Lime,
Thanks again for posting! Yeah, I need at least 3 inch pedicels so they stay in the small vases I use....I don't use the whole stalk...just one bloom at a time. Our summers are mid 80's-90's and humid.
Thanks for telling me about Harbor Star and Lavender Mist. I HATE it when websites show colors that aren't reliable. But Sumatra is one I am seriously considering after your post and the email from BD Lilies recommending it. They also recommended Pink Virtuoso. :0) Phyl

Harbor Star rotted in my raised bed, but everything rots more easily here than in most areas due to our long, cold, wet springs and autumns. Lavender Mist wasn't lavender, more of a pale pink, not terribly vigorous. Salmon Jewels are more pink than salmon but my goodness, is that plant ever vigorous! Think 6 feet tall, minimum. I got all three from B&D, several years ago, and recommend them. I recommend Ednie's even more but they have minimum orders that not everybody can meet. Unfortunately, I don't recall pedicel length on any of them and have since given them away.

Thanks Jeanne, for your input. I waver back and forth on Salmon Jewels....but I appreciate the info on its vigor. I still may get it. :0) Phyl
