Can't answer your question but you might do a search. Couple places I'd noticed listing there was no mention of cutting. From some very limited experience with salvias with these sparse flowers, they were so-so. Sure would like them to be as the colors are great. Hope someone answers so we both know.

I know this is an old post but I happened on it while browsing. The problem with Black & Blue and some other Salvias is they shatter pretty quickly and drip nectar. Might be OK in a short term arrangement (say you had a dinner party or some event and just needed something for a few hours) but it isn't something that I would try to sell as a cut flower. Too messy and don't last very long.

This question is currently being discussed on the ASCFG Bulletin Board. If they come up with info worth sharing, I shall. I grow Blue Bedder as a cut and it's fantastic so long as it's cut at the correct time, bonus is it blooms in the Spring and the Fall if cut back.
