Also I have a few dahlias that I planted and didn't cut the tips off. Just found out about it. Any suggestions about what can be done. Some of the plants have ten to twelve leaf pairs others have more. What should I do at this point?

About keeping sale tubers over til the next season, I don't know. I think it's best to plunk them in the ground, even if late or crowded. You always have a chance at progeny to grow the next season then, even if you don't get blooms.
