Lovely bloom and bug, Granny. You will find that Jackolantern changes with each flower as the season goes on, at least mine did. Some mostly yellow with orange, splotches of orange, barely orange etc. Dahlias are so amazing. Bugs are amazing too!

I had a couple of blooms that looked exactly like yours and as Poochella mentioned I have one that looks like this on the same plant

Wow! Willow it has NO collar as in collarette! Naked before the world, without a collar. That is astounding. I hope you keep tabs on Jack O lantern and let us know what else it does thru the season.

Yea, It has been very strange this year. I had 3 blooms at once and each one was different, but this one was very strange for Jack. I'll photo the next round and post.
