| Just a few are in bloom at this time, but Nescio was a wonderful gift last year and is doing its thing fairly early this year. It's a wonderful bright red 2-3 inch FD, 3 ft tall, good stems.
What I like about this is watching the center petals color up and unfold: they look like they may be green but unfold a bright true red.

I was concentrating on dark reds and maroons last year, but this is another new one for 08: Fidalgo Blacky. Lots of early flowers 3 inch size, deepest maroon FD on a 3 ft bush to date. The camera cannot capture adequately how dark red/blackish it is, a common problem.

| As always, lovely, Poochella. Those dark reds are VERY hard to capture true to color. I give up on those. |

| You should see Black Cat which is my alltime favorite (second year having it) dark red. Velvety stout petals, very sturdy stems, and deepest dark red color. Here's yet another 'not dark enough' photo of Black Cat just opening here.

| Yep, I remember your "Dark Reds" mission last year. Black Cat looks just as fabulous this time around. |

I remember last yr too, looks like they are just as beautiful this yr. A |

Thanks. Linht, have you tried adjusting down your camera's white balance until the true dark tone is found? Here's a photo of Black Cat taken that way, and it's much closer to reality, but still not dark enough :( I think this is my alltime favorite of the dark maroons. It's an excellent cutting flower.

Forgot Azuma Kagami a wonderful anemone in pure, bright red. It's little at under 3 inches, but packs a punch in color.

Got Weston Spanish Dancer back after a couple years without. Nice bright colors and lots of blooms. It will get more cactus-sy than shown here.

Karma Naomi, one of the very most worthwhile Karma Dahlias in my book. 5 ft tall again this year and just as nice in dark red.

| The dark reds and purples are my favorites. That really is a nice Karma. I'm still looking for a decent source for Karma Sangria. |

| I'll email you about Sangria. Still waiting for mine to open this year. Here's one for the bright red category. Blazing hot colors just as rich as Taratahi Ruby red with fiery yellow. Ken's Flame

| Ken's Flame is nice and bright. I sent an email to your yahoo address, poochella. Thanks |
