| I bought these two dahlias and they were just labeled as red and white dahlia and plain dahlia respectively. The only thing I know is that the first picture is a cactus type and the second is a waterlily type, am I right? I'd like to ID these to put in my database. Can you help me, please? Thanks in advance...

Oooh those I'd call Pretty and Prettier. The red one looks so familiar- is it red and white, or really red and yellow as it appears here? I would not call red a cactus, the split frilly petal tips would make me call it a laciniate; and a pretty laciniate at that. The gorgeous grape one looks too deep for waterlily, maybe a formal decorative, I don't know. See the guides at the link, but I couldn't get each individual link there to work this a.m. Maybe you'll have better luck.

Do you think the red one looks like "Show and Tell?" An "A" -large- size laciniate at the link below. If you could measure the bloom it might be easier to give it a name.

Poochella, I tried checking on the link for "Show'N'Tell" and I think you nailed it! It is red and yellow and laciniated too. Thank you very much. I measured the bloom of the first one and it is 8" in diameter. The second one has a diameter of 3 1/4"... does that help? I tried to click on the link of the dahlia forms, it won't work for me either.

Well, it could be Show N Tell, but there may be other dahlias looking pretty similar. That's just the first one I could find. I'm at a loss on that gorgeous purple creature, but I sure like it.
