| some new blooms for my garden this year that have recently opened:
April Dawn
Brookside Snowball: so many blooms I am afraid this one will topple in recent rains for sure.
My blurry bright, bold Cornell
Eastern Echo: supposed to be variegated Pink with Red. For two years mine have been just bold bright medium red with excellent formation of petals.
Pinelands Princess- not fully opened here, but looks to be one that will vary dark pink and white on lacy petals, as new blooms are produced.

| pinelands Princess ripened up nicely in another day, I'll post an update of it tomorrow: it's cut for bouquet making tomorrow. Here's a retry of Kenora Ontario: got poor sun and only a few spindly blooms on lanky plant last year: this year is an improvement. Mingus Wallace- a lovely medium purple ball. My birthday gift from the Puget Sound Dahlia Association. Aren't they so nice? (I only got it because I happened to go to their tuber sale on my birthday.) My bee! Cha Cha- another one given better sun and a second chance after a so so introduction last year. I can't tell you the difference- more robust blooms, more blooms period and much better colors. It's a nice little red/white, slightly yellow zinger to spice up your vase. Fatima- new for me 3 foot bush with hot pink tiny 2 inch or less formal dec. type bloom. I like the color but wish it had more blossoms, as advertised. I take full blame for putting it largely behind a taller than expected peony. Willow! Willow! Look who's gracing my garden! Keith H- can't remember if I posted this yet or not: it's a very nice 5 inch waterlily in pale yellow edged in orange, not pink as it might appear here. I discovered I was taking photos exclusively with an "indoor" lighting setting for two solid weeks. Fool. Lilac Time opened in grand style- 4 huge blooms of about 8 inch lovely soft lilacky pink on broomstick stems. Even in our heavy rain fall and wind, not one broke- the sign of a real champion around here. Look at the size of the stem to the right of the bloom... Similar to Pinelands Princess, but all hot pink: it's Party Girl ( the one I took photos of buds on because I couldn't wait to see it LOL) This poor fellow was labelled early on, but the label faded and I know not what I planted. I believe it might be Mick's Peppermint, but haven't researched it at all. I do not think it's Prince Valiant because I have that and it's far smaller, far different structure of the whole plant/stems/colors etc. Snoho Beauty- palest pink with white Ball. My first two blooms just arrived in time for the rain, but survived on good stems. |

| Beautiful, beautiful!!! I just fell in love with Eastern Echo, and Party girl is to die for! Thanks for posting and I can't wait to see your next load of dahlia's. One of these, one of those, gotta have this, can't live without that....Dahlia Mania, Oh My, Oh My! |

Here's Camano Denali- the one the frog was sitting atop. Kind of a dusky rose with yellow. Nice full flower about 7 inches across, 6 inches deep, 7 with a frog. LOL. Caproz Razby Twinkle finally opened. This was taken practically at dark tonight. A deep raspberry red laciniate about 5-6 inches up and across. Fairly tall bush- 5 ft+. Fringed STar- storebought special. Came with 3 tubers, one I gave as a gift. This shows another tuber, and the third one throws nothing but spindly gross, open centered spidery messes! I wanted to hack that plant down as soon as I realized all blooms on it were going to be the same. Does anyone know why the same variety can go 'single?' I had Chimacum Topaz do that a few years back and threw away all the flowers and tubers that ensued. the "good" Fringed Star is very pastel pink with creamy white cactus, ~6 inches across. Jennifer's Wedding- deep purple split tipped bloom about 6 inches across, 4 ft plant. I tried to trick my camera by putting the purple against the bright oranges of Reedly and Brightstar, but it still doesn't capture the true deep violet color. Blurry Jennifer's wedding, solo: Marika- back from last year but looking better in a new bed. Pink and white laciniate, paler pink than that of Pinelands Princess but still nice. |

here's Eastern Echo fully opened- quite a bit different from the first photo. It's really quite a nice red and well shaped. Devon Citation from the side- nice pure white apprx 6 inches x 4 inches deep. Just Peachy early ( just opened a couple days ago) About4 inches wide. Miss Rose Fletcher is back and doing better this year. Really a nice smaller cactus in pale pink/white |

| Lavender Athalie
Natal- dark red with near black centers pompon or miniball- smallish at under 2 inches. it's starting to look more purple as the season wanes, but early on it's a rich dark red. Nicer shot of Cornel 'Mosaic'another version: a varigated magenta and white 3-4 inch blooms. Prince Valiant: I have one that's short and in poor sun with wimpy stems and this one in better sun: robust and towering. Note the little lavender streaks of mutant genes on the lower petal. Unforgettable: can't believe I haven't posted this yet! So lovely in 4-5 inch white blooms tipped in delicate pale lavender. Great flower. |

| Oh my, I just love Dahlias and these are all extraordinary. Very beautiful, I'm thinking of starting some Dahlias of my own next year. My grandmother had Dahlias in her garden in the prettiest fall colors every autumn. Oh how I miss her and her garden. Although the Dahlias today are even more colorful and prettier, they sure do bring back memories for me. Thank you all for sharing. |

| Beautiful! I wish I had more room for all these beauties. :-D The Eastern Echo you gave me rotted. Now I know what I missed. :-( |
|
| You have to have Eastern Echo Piti! I'll save one for you. It's getting rave reviews in Autumn bouquets brought to work. Here's this year's Alden Snowlodge- a lovely little 3" white cactus only 3 ft tall. |

Just Peachy fully opened- really a nice cutting flower. Can't remember if I posted this one- Painted Lady- or not, but I like it enough to repost. Ditto for this one, but I really like it too LOL!
