Ruskin Marigold- great bright orange beacon in the garden; much brighter than it appears here.

Long Island Lil- maybe 4-5 inches across in a nice bright medium orange.

Magic Moment- great fluffy med large with blushes of lavender tips

Miss Rose Fletcher- the old standby

Nanna's Kiss-

I like Miss Rose there Pooch. I really like Long Island Lil - it's the same color as Barbarry Ball so I won't feel bad about that one being gone after this year.

RE: More More More

I agree Al. Long Island Lil got stuck behind a forest of taller dahlias so it took her a while to bloom, but I love the color too. Don't love the bug bites I'm getting this year at all. Barbarry Ball did better last year and I'll have to decide to chuck it, or move it to a new location for one more year.

Hy Lustre is one of my favorite oranges- great plant and intriguing ball with red and orange petals.

Jomanda is tops for the oranges for me though: such a wonderful flower. These had a bit of the hard green centers, but the other 95% have been great.

Maarn is a very fresh lt orange too.

Robinhood another nice orange

Can't remember if I posted Sea Oro or not- a medium large wavery golden orange. Very nice for a hideously tall dahlia LOL.

Dark Reds
Black Narcissus

Black Cat- really dark

Danjo Doc

Karma Naomi- deep maroon.

And finishing with the petite little pompon in deepest red: Crossfield Ebony

That's a fabulous shot of Magic Moment. I've seen pics of it in several online catalogs and some of them don't look so great. Karma Naomi is like velvet. LOVELY!

Love that Nanna's Kiss - must have it. Do you know where I can find it? Terrific - those dark reds must be spectacular in person

The dark reds were a mission for 07- some were great, some were so so. I'll sort out who makes the grade for 08 in April.

Nanna's Kiss is a very nice plant, color, bloomer and on decent stems, if you plan to cut them. Connell's was the source.

Where would I get the Sea Oro and Long Island Lil? I am going to change my color scheme next year. Too much pink and purples.

RE: More More More

Sorry pd, have been busy digging.... Long Island Lil from the Big List is available from 3 sellers:

LONG ISLAND LIL Arrowhead Dahlias

LONG ISLAND LIL Dan’s Dahlias

LONG ISLAND LIL Endless Summer Flower Farm

Sea Oro is an origination from a Seattle grower Sea-Tac Gardens and is a marvelous flower.
