 o
companion plants (annuals) for dahlias?

hello--

well, i took the plunge and bought about 30 dahlia plants from swan island. they are mostly in the 3.5 to 5 foot range in height and are in the cool (lavender, white, soft rose) color family. i am going to put them along a fence by my driveway. the area gets lots of sun.

i am wondering what annuals work well as companion plants with dahilas. one that i will for sure add is verbena bonariensis, the tall, airy purple verbena. i am also thinking about white cleome and some cosmos (just because i really love cosmos). what other annuals would you recommend? thanks for any suggestions!

I put cleome with mine last year and they did great together. Also I ordered from swans last year and the tubers were the best, and they overwintered the best out of all my tubers. Cindy
