Bloom dates: tuber versus cutting

When I say tuber I mean a tuber that hasnÂt been started indoors, but is simply purchased and planted straight into the ground when the local weather is viable.

When I say cutting, I mean a freshly taken cutting that is viable and is put into a rooting medium indoors and tended appropriately.

From all that IÂve read, it would seem that a cutting is about 6 weeks behind a tuber in terms of when they will bloom. So cuttings taken 6 weeks earlier than tubers could normally be planted outside should bloom around the same date.

Does this jive with others experience?

Cheers,

Russ
