I am new to dahlias, and to bulbs, really. I just got my order of purple creme de cassis dahlias, but no directions came with it. How deep and how far apart do I plant them? Which end is up? The label says they will be 36" tall. Is this accurate info? Will they bloom all summer, or just once? Will I have to stake these flowers? I live just north of the Dallas area and they will be planted where they get lots of sun. Thanks!

A lot of good info, but I didn't see how deep to plant the bulbs or how far apart to plant them. Can someone help me? Thanks!

"Lay the tuber horizontally 4-6" deep, about 18" to 24" apart, and then cover with soil."

Oh my goodness! 18-24" apart? I have 15 of them and don't have anywhere near that much room where I intended to plant them. Guess I need to do some re-arranging! Thanks for the help.
