Wanted: Heat Tolerant Dahlias

Hello,

I'd like to try some heat tolerant dahlias.

I'm hoping somebody can share some tubers with me.

I have a lot of rooted antique roses for the exchange.

Here are some rooted roses that I have (I have more!):

Zephirine Drouhin - Bourbon z5b

Forksinger - Buck z5

If you're looking for heat tolerant dahlias try Google-ing the Georgia Dahlia Society. If I remember right they have a list of ones that stand up to heat.

Here in Kansas , the temp. can get up to 100F and stay there for a month ...
Ive grown dahlias for years now and have never lost a dahlia due to the heat.
For me.....they are easy plants to grow but not always to show (like at the fair) because buggers can take one chomp out of my dahlia that i have chosen to enter !

Dahlias come from Mexico, don't they? I imagine that other than losing color in their blooms from too much sun, they can take heat.

I agree, I live inland Southern california where it is 95-100 degrees for three months straight and my Dahlia's thrive in it. I do have to be careful not to get the leaves wet,I had a bad case of powdery mildew last year which I could not get rid of.
