Just wanted to say hello to the Dahlia Forum.
I friend gave me six dahlia tubers last spring (don't know the name but very dark green foliage with deep red medium sized 4" blooms). I'm hooked. I planted them at the cottage, and had to go back to the city. I gave the little 4" plants a healthy dose of Miracle Grow. I came back four weeks later (a friend did the watering) and my garden was FULL of dahlias. They looked like huge rosebushes! I love them. I dead-headed like crazy and they were the talk of the lane. I can't wait for planting season this year.
I just went to Costco and got some more:
Zingaro 5
Night Queen 5
Mignon: Windmill 3
Mignon: Fire & Ice 7
Dinnerplate: Sir Alf Ramsey 8" 5
Dinnerplate: Gitt's Perfection 8" 5
Dinnerplate: Akita 8" 5
Dinnerplate: Cafe au Lait 8" 5
Dinnerplate: Vancouver 8" 5
Dinnerplate: Bilboa 8" 5
along with some calla lilies, cannas, Mymenocallis, elephant ears (Colocasia), gladiolas and irises.
I've become addicted to gardening - is there a therapy group for this??? LOL
I'm certainly going to have some questions if I can't find the answer via Google. Come on Spring!
