Bahama Apricot question

I have only grown one dahlia before (a few years ago). Never got the tuber out of the ground before winter....glad it wasn't an expensive one! We grow LOTS of roses, lilies and iris-things I can keep track of more easily!

Anyway, I bought a grocery-store type dahlia (from Holland supposedly) today for $2.49...it's called Bahama Apricot...a decorative/large flowering type. I don't know how large the bloom will be...couldn't find it online. I want it for cut flowers. How SOON can I put it into the ground...do I have to wait for last frost date (May 15?) Anything I need to know except for to make sure the soil is well-draining and in full sun? Do any of you have a photo of Bahama Apricot?

Thanks for all your help! Phyl
