I bought 2 from the garden center last summer, dug them up in the fall and stored them in the garage (40 degrees) all winter in a basket. I didn't water them, ever. Don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing.

It's still to early to put them out here in Montana. But I was wondering if there is something I should be doing now to prepare them. . . if I didn't winter kill them in the garage. I don't see any signs yet, although that doesn't worry me, or should it. . .

Just a few tips on what, if anything I should be doing (exposing to sunlight, water, rinse in mild bleach) Thanks. . .

If they are not dry husks, or piles of mush - then they are probably good to go!

They need warmth and a little moisture to eye up and start to sprout. I put my tubers in domed trays, lightly covered with moist potting mix, and put them on top of the fluorescent lights that I start seedlings under - Once they start sprouting I put them in pots under lights.

I can't plant out until the beginning of June here and I like to get a bit of a head start. Your growing season is probably even shorter than mine.
