| If you live in the Portland area, and are looking for great dahlias, you should come to the Portland Dahlia Society sale and auction next Tuesday, April 8th, at the Rose City Park United Methodist Church, 5830 NE Alameda in Portland. Admission to the sale tables begins at 6:30 pm. Most tubers are $3 each, or 2 for $5. The auction part of the evening begins at 7 pm. You will have the opportunity to purchase newer, or hard-to-find tubers and plants at, normally, good prices. Sometimes if it is for a variety that has been sold out everywhere else, the bidding can get furious. It's a lot of fun. If you join the dahlia society at the sale ($10 for the year), you will receive a certificate worth $7 that can be used for your dahlia purchase. Full information is on the events calendar. |
