Dahlia 'Hy Scent'

Has anyone grown this? I have it on order and I want to know how tall it gets? I'm in Maryland and it can get pretty hot and humid here. Should it be planted in partial shade? Thanks much.

This linked site says it's 3 ft tall. Another site said "It grows fairly tall!" Tall compared to what, they didn't say.

Maybe compromise and plan for 3.5 ft, but mostly I'd plan to sit and wonder at how this beautiful flower within a flower came to be!

Here is a link that might be useful: Hy Scent

Thank you for the link poochella. I'm anxious to see this one in bloom.

Has your Dahlia 'Hy Scent' bloomed yet? I have one that has buds.

georgiagardener, I have had one bloom so far. The first bloom looked exactly like the photo at the Flower Scent Gardens site but didn't have a fragrance other than the usual dahlia scent. I have another bloom on it now but it looks like a regular single dahlia. There are lots of buds so we shall see. I'm hopeful. Are you growing it as well?

Yes, I ordered some plants this spring.
