| Hi,
I do have bunch of tubers from last season stored in Vermiculite over the winter. They all look good when I checked this morning---nothing dried out. However, I could not sight any eye or new growth on them. What next? Any advice/suggestions? Thanks

Most tubers stored over the Winter have eyes by now, so good luck. Put tubers into a plastic bag with some damp potting mix(enough to cover all of them). Place bag of tubers in a warm area 75 to 80 degrees. Check in one week. If no eyes by then, you probably have tubers with no eyes. White roots do not count as many blind tubers grow white roots.

Thanks teddahlia--I had put tubers into a plastic bag with damp potting soil--as per your suggestion. Today, I see that there are couple of eyes so clearly visible!! It is exiting, as this is my first time saving tubers and then planting them again. Thanks so much.

I did see couple of eyes and kept tubers out of the plastic bag for a day. Next day the eyes were dried up!! However, I still put tubers in the soil. Is there any hope now? This was a week ago and temps were in mid to low 70's during day time and quite humid. Appreciate you response and feedback. Anna

Anna, It shouldn't be a problem at all. A LITTLE bit of moisture (until they come up) and some heat will get it going again. Gail
