heat damage, question #2

Posted by cotodahliagirl (My Page) on

Hi All,
I am concerned about my dahlia's I posted earlier about a heat wave and my shoots dying but my other concern it the tubers have started to shrivel and are getting soft. I was going to get them out of pots and in the ground but I am worried I will be wasting my time as they won't grow at all. Any suggestions?
I called Swan Island and the gal told me know to worry they should come back.
So sad :(

I would got for it and hope for success. If you're really concerned about a great Dahlia show this year, you could purchase a few more just in case. In my area, a couple of the dahlia societies are holding their tuber sales now - decent selection for a good price. The Colorado Dahlia Society holds a link to a listing of sales.
