recent freeze

i had a few dahlias overwintered in the ground which were maybe 3" tall when we got a freeze last week. i covered them with pots, but on 2 the leaves look crispy. can i expect them to recover? i am trying to decide in particular if i should buy another bishop of llandaff tuber... i love the dark foliage, and really hope i have not lost it.

As long as the tuber did not freeze it should be ok. If the stem dies back two or four eyes will start growing again so while it is a setback they should recover.
