What to do about dahlias getting huge inside?

We started all our dahlias inside in pots. Some have just barely popped out of the soil in the pot. We purchased some at home depot for the first time this year. My husband saw them and thought I would love the colors (he was right) and he grabbed them as they were going fast. Those particular home depot dahlias are growing out of control!! One is seriously almost 2 feet tall. It is in a fairly small pot. I am not sure how long I can keep it there. Should I just transplant to a larger pot, or wait it out a few weeks? I have never stated tubers indoors, so I have no idea if it is getting way too crowded in there and I don't want to disturb it if I don't have to.

Thanks!

Replant into a bigger pot. It won't miss a beat! You can also pinch back the top now to make it bushier. I've been doing this all morning with my prestarted dahlias in my greenhouse. Take off some of the lower leaves and set it deeper in the bigger pot. It will give the stem more support.
