Starting my dahlias indoors

I have a day off work tomorrow( for good behaviour LOL ), and will some tubers out, hoping to make some cuttings. Here are a few shots. I think I did this presentation in 2005, but it is hard to find now.

A green sprout already

laying out the tubers under lights to get more shoots

Covering the tubers with a moist media

covering it all with thin plastic to keep moisture in.

When they have sprouted, they are then put into pots. See link:

Here's hoping that I get some decent cuttings. If I do, I can give some to friends,- especially those who invite me to dinner. LOL

I have all racks full of potted dahlias now, and need more space for more that are continuing to sprout. I think the local garden club will be benefitting big time, this spring.

jroot. I have not even gotten as far as you have as my tubers will not eye up? I can't go to the next step until they do as I haven't seen any eyes so that I can cut? What do you suggest to hurry them along?
