Bi-color Red & White, Dahlia York & Lancaster: Source?

I have been looking for this unusual dahlia for several years. I just found a source for it the other day and today I saw that they are sold out. Does anyone know where I can get a start? Does anyone grow this? (I'm wondering if the blooms normally have such contrast and variety?)

It has been argued that York and Lancaster is the oldest dahlia variety still in existence. It may date to the 1850s.
As you know, it is very rare now and probably because there
are thousands of newer varieties that grow better flowers. The trait that makes the flowers have white and red splotches is in other dahlia varieties such as Hollyhill Jokers Wild, Wicky Woo, Little Clown and others. Little Clown probably looks the most like your favorite and it is a pom dahlia that is red orange with white splotches.

Doggone it--now, you've gone and done it!! Its beautiful, and since I love "Hulins Carnival" for its varigation, now I want that one too!!
If you find it, (and dont buy ALL of them) please let me know?

I bought one from Old House Gardens but I think they're sold out for the season, you have to order early for the rare plants from them because they sell out quick. Mine is still small but looks very healthy and I'm hoping for blooms in a few weeks just to see what they look like! Maybe in the fall I'll have a tuber to share with you.

Poochella and Mommyto2, thanks to you both for your thoughtfulness! Poochella, I didn't see your e-mails at first. (I've updated my gardenweb account to my current main e-mail account.) When I first saw this dahlia it was in a catalog from the UK so now that I know that it is available in the U.S. I should be able to get it in the future. Monica, please let me know if the blooms on yours look like the photo on the Old House Gardens' website.
