I started lots of dahlias indoors. I am ready to plant them out this weekend. I put tags in each pot with the name and the height. I had "saved" the wrappers with the pictures but now canÂt find them in the file where I normally keep such things (memory problems, darn). For most of the 12 varieties I remember what color/form they are, so placing them is not a huge problem. (OK, for "Red Pygmy" I do have a clue, lol...)

But these four I donÂt even remember buying! Must have done it after the inhibitions came down (once youÂve started 40-50 dahlias, whatÂs a dozen or so more?). It's my handwriting on the tags, so dahlia santa did not drop them off at my house. I have a feeling many are some shade of red.

But... Single? Double? Flower size? cactus? lacinated? I googled but got inconsistent pictures, and none at all for E & I.

This is all I wrote on each stick in the pots:

RED PYGMY 20"

STARÂS FAVORITE 40"

FIREBIRD 18-20"

EBONY AND IVORY, 24-28" (I think this is a dark purple to ivory mix)
