Yet another urgent cry for help

So I put out some of my potted dahlias of the "no staking required" variety. Not true. I got home from work today and winds had bent one completely over creating a crease in the stem at the soil line. The foliage is pretty beat up. I've brought it in the house and staked it.

What's the next step?
1.) Hope for the best
2.) Watch it die
3.) Take a cutting from the top and start over

Sorry for all the dilemmas lately. I'm having a tough time of it.

Sounds like you are doing ok at this point but why not take a cutting and be on the safe side? Steve in Stevens County.
