| Does anyone have a good suggestion as to what works well to mulch dahlia beds.I have done several searches, and haven't run across anything. I have used shredded wood chips in the past, but have read that they aren't a good option. Would straw work, or cause more weeds. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. |

| Straw should work fine. I use a 1-2" layer of composted manure. You would expect weeds to flourish in it, but they don't. Once the Dahlias fill in they tend to shade out any weeds anyway. |
