| HI All,
Last year, I lost all of my dahlias...to what you ask? I'm still not sure. This year, I bought all new ones at a local garden show. Much to my dismay, earlier this week I found that something has been muching on my dahlias and sprayed them with Safer 3 in 1. Any thoughts on what the culprit could be? The wet spots in the pic are due from the rain which just subsided. As you can see from the pictures, they have tiny bite marks which are almost see through. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

| How about trying to spray them with with a mix of 1 part Hydrogen Peroxide and 2 parts water. Be sure to get up under the leaves. Before you do that tho give the plant a good spraying down with your hose - blasting away anything nasty that is hiding. When using the H2O2 be sure to get the mix into every part of the plant. If you have white fly then use a mix of equal parts Rubbing Alcohol and Water - that will take care of about anything without resorting to chemicals ... especially good for aphids! My other handy-dandy "potion" is 1 part skim milk to 9 parts water and a few drops of dishwashing liquid (not antiseptic) - I give everything a good spray down with that in spring - it inhibits powdery mildew, black spot etc. Used that for years and wouldn't be without it! | I have those little spots on my miniature dahlias - AND something rooting around in them too. Maybe an armadillo? I'm going to give MagicKiwi's potion of H202 a try... |
