I have so enjoyed this forum, everyone. You've all been SO helpful and friendly. While waiting for my dahilas, here's what else is happening in the garden this weekend. I posted the photos on the Texas Gardening forum, click link for photos.

I love the EE. I used to have a lot of them also, but they didn't make it one winter, even in the cold cellar. So they were replaced. I see yours and think maybe I should give them another chance.

J, I would ship you some new babies, but I'm not sure they'd make it through customs...I have soooooo many. I removed a 10' section of them to put in my first dahlias ever. tilled the ground to mix in manure, and every chopped root seems to have shot up a new plant. I'm pulling them like weeds.
